5-Amino-2-methylbenzothiazole is a synthetic compound that has been shown to be expressed in human tissues, including adipose and liver. 5-Amino-2-methylbenzothiazole has been shown to enhance the activity of the dehydrogenase enzyme and is used in solid-phase synthesis. It can also be used as an analog for cortisone. 5-Amino-2-methylbenzothiazole is fluorescent, which makes it useful for use in a chromatographic process. The physicochemical properties of this compound have not yet been fully studied, but it may be possible to maximize its effectiveness by altering its molecular weight or hydrophobicity.
