Description :
1,3-Adamantane dimethanol is a diol that belongs to the class of compounds called adamantanes. This compound has been shown to have a functional theory. The alkali metal ions bind to 1-adamantanemethanol and the oxygen atoms in the molecule are transferred to form a metal cation. These cations then react with acrylates to form polymers with high molecular weights and optical properties. 1,3-Adamantane dimethanol is also an excellent initiator for polymerization reactions.
