Description

2-Amino-6-chloropyridine is a hydrogen bond donor that participates in the formation of weak bonds with other molecules. It is used as a model system for studying hydrogen bonding and its role in chemical reactions. This compound has been shown to be an antimicrobial agent, inhibiting protein synthesis by binding to ribosomal RNA. 2-Amino-6-chloropyridine has also been found to have potent antibacterial activity.
