The structural analysis of allylthiourea has been carried out using x-ray diffraction data. It was found that allylthiourea binds to DNA and alters its structure, leading to genotoxic activity. Allylthiourea has also been shown to have electrochemical impedance spectroscopy properties and can be used for the determination of the concentration of inhibitor molecules in solutions.
