2-Amino-1-[2-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-[(4-fluorophenyl)amino]-5,6-dihydro-8,8-dimethylimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-7(8H)-yl]ethanone (NF54) is a compound with antimalarial activity. It has shown prophylactic efficacy in a mouse malaria model and in a human malaria trial. NF54 is also an inhibitor of autophagy. NF54 has been shown to inhibit the growth of virus cells without affecting the viability of mammalian cells. This drug also inhibits the production of Gnf179, which is an endoplasmic reticulum protein that regulates the trafficking of proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi body.
