Informations sur le produit
- 2-Furanpropanoic Acid, Beta-Amino-
3-Amino-3-(2-furyl)propanoic acid is an antibiotic that belongs to the group of glycopeptide antibiotics. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to the D-alanyl-D-alanine end of the lipid II intermediate in the cell wall synthesis pathway, which prevents cross-linkage between peptidoglycan molecules. 3-Amino-3-(2-furyl)propanoic acid has been shown to have a high affinity for teicoplanin, a glycopeptide antibiotic, as well as other glycoproteins. 3-(2-Furyl)propanoic acid is also reactive and can be modified using various chemical reactions including alkylation, esterification, oxidation, or reduction. This drug is also hydrolyzed by lipases, which may provide an alternate route for metabolism.
