Description

{4-[(E)-2-(4-Aminophenyl)vinyl]phenyl}amine (PAPPA) is a titrated absorber that has been used to measure the concentration of sodium chloride in water. PAPPA absorbs light in the visible region and releases it again after some time. The amount of light absorbed depends on the concentration of salt in water. The reaction system is an aqueous solution containing inorganic acid, metal ion, and aniline. The analytical method for PAPPA is based on NMR spectra.
