Description

2-Aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid hydrochloride is a sequence of amino acids with a protonated amide group. The conformational properties and hemolytic activity of 2-aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid hydrochloride are determined by the stereoselective and asymmetric synthesis, which involves the formation of an amide bond between the carboxylic acid and the amino group. This compound has been shown to be a molecular target for peptides that bind to β-amino acids. Molecular modeling studies have confirmed that 2-aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid hydrochloride is capable of forming hydrogen bonds with nitro groups.
2-Aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid hydrochloride is used in protein binding experiments. It is also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds.
