Description :1-(Azidomethyl)-4-chlorobenzene is a chemical compound that is used in organic synthesis. It is a colorless liquid with a strong smell. It inhibits the growth of fungi by inhibiting the sclerotinia phosphatase, which catalyzes the conversion of propiolic acid to p-hydroxybenzoic acid. This mechanism may also be responsible for its properties as an antifungal agent. 1-(Azidomethyl)-4-chlorobenzene has shown no inhibitory effects on mammalian phosphatases and does not show any adverse reactions when tested against animal cells.
