2-Amino-3-methoxyphenol is a dioxetane emitter that has a high efficiency. It can be used as an excitation source in fluorescence and chemiluminescence spectroscopy, and can be used with other dioxetanes to generate acetonitrile. 2-Amino-3-methoxyphenol also has the ability to emit light when it reacts with fluoride or acetonitrile, which makes it useful for chemiexcitation spectroscopy.
