Description

2-Anilinopyrirmidine is a pharmacological agent that binds to the receptor for epidermal growth factor. It has been shown to have antiproliferative activity in vitro against a variety of cancer cells, including those derived from women and children. 2-Anilinopyrirmidine was found to inhibit the enzymatic activity of kinases that are involved in cancer cell proliferation. The drug binds reversibly to these enzymes and prevents them from phosphorylating their substrates. 2-Anilinopyrirmidine also inhibits the production of growth factors by binding to the enzyme tyrosine kinase, which is necessary for these molecules' activation. This process prevents the production of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and other growth factors such as fibroblast growth factor (FGF). 2-Anilinopyrirmidine is metabolized by hydrolysis with hydrochloric acid, which forms an unstable intermediate that spontaneously reacts with
