5-Amino-2-fluoropyridine is a small molecule that has been shown to have insulin-like growth factor (IGF) receptor agonist activity, which may be due to the presence of nitrogen atoms and amide groups. 5-Amino-2-fluoropyridine has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo, as well as to induce apoptosis in leukemia cells. This compound also has the ability to inhibit the proliferation of human liver cancer cells. 5-Amino-2-fluoropyridine is thought to have anticancer activity by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis and IGF production through chemical reactions with tissues, including fatty acids, which are important for tumor growth.
