4-(6-Acryloxy-hexyl-1-oxy)-benzoic acid is a hydrogen bond donor. It is soluble in organic solvents and forms hydrogen bonds with other molecules. When the compound is heated, it changes from an oriented structure to a supramolecular structure. This change is reversible and can be observed macroscopically. 4-(6-Acryloxy-hexyl-1-oxy)-benzoic acid has been shown to have proton acceptor properties. At high temperatures, 4-(6-acryloxy hexyl 1-oxy) benzoic acid undergoes a phase transition from an oriented structure to a supramolecular structure. The orientation of the molecule can be seen macroscopically.
