• Description: Aluminum oxide is a non-toxic, inert solid that is used as a catalyst in the production of polymers and plastics. Aluminum oxide has been shown to reduce inflammation, inhibit angiogenesis and increase vascular permeability in inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and asthma. Alumina can also induce apoptosis in cancer cells by disrupting their cell membranes.
