• Description: 6-Amino-1-hexanethiol hydrochloride is a monolayer with an affinity for basic proteins, such as theophylline. The binding of 6-aminohexanethiol hydrochloride to theophylline has been shown to be linear and specific in electrochemical methods. 6-Aminohexanethiol hydrochloride immobilized on a surface binds theophylline with high affinity. This compound was also found to bind phosphatidylcholine, which is a major component of biological membranes. It has been demonstrated that 6-aminohexanethiol hydrochloride can be used as a functional group for immobilizing biomolecules on surfaces.
