Description

Trans-Aldrindiol is a natural product that may be found in the body, where it has been shown to inhibit spontaneous activity. Trans-Aldrindiol also has an inhibitory effect on pharmacological agents and metabolic rate. The drug is used for the treatment of depression, which may be due to its ability to reduce extracellular Ca2+ concentration in tissues. Trans-Aldrindiol has been shown to have a depressant effect on spontaneous activity in animals. It also inhibits electrophysiological effects in ventral and abdominal ganglia as well as depression in Sprague-Dawley rats.
