p-Aminooxanilic acid is a diagnostic agent for the detection of taurocholate in human liver. It is also used to detect and diagnose infectious diseases, such as influenza virus, streptococcal bacteria, and viruses. p-Aminooxanilic acid is used in the diagnosis of pancreatitis due to its ability to bind with chondroitin sulfate in the pancreas. This compound has been shown to be an effective antiviral agent against influenza virus by interfering with its replication process.
