Description

5b-Androstan-3a,17b-diol is a synthetic compound that is structurally similar to the natural hormone estradiol. The biological function of 5β-androstan-3α,17β-diol is not well understood. It has been shown that this drug can be used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and arthritis. 5β-androstan-3α,17β-diol has also been shown to increase locomotor activity in mice by activating the central nervous system. This drug may be effective as a cancer treatment due to its ability to inhibit tumor growth.
