• Description: (5a)-Androstane-3,11,17-trione is a synthetic, non-steroidal, androgenic steroid. It is a hydrophobic compound that binds to the androgen receptor. (5a)-Androstane-3,11,17-trione has affinity for the carbonyl group of amino acids on the surface of the receptor.
