Description

Arteether is a sesquiterpene lactone that is derived from the natural drug arteether. It has shown to have biological properties, including anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. Arteether also has been shown to be toxic in animal studies. The compound has been found to inhibit neuronal death through its ability to inhibit the release of nitric oxide (NO) and other inflammatory mediators, such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α). Arteether is a promising candidate for the treatment of bowel disease, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases.
