Description

L-Alanine ethyl ester HCl is a compound that belongs to the group of amino acids. It is an aliphatic, non-essential amino acid that is classified as a non-polar and hydrophobic amino acid. L-Alanine ethyl ester HCl has been shown to have biological properties that are similar to those of L-alanine on tissue culture cells, including receptor activity and protein synthesis. L-Alanine ethyl ester HCl also has antiviral properties against infectious bacteria such as Escherichia coli and chlamydia, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial proteins required for replication. L-Alanine ethyl ester HCl can be used in wastewater treatment as it reacts with hydrochloric acid in water to produce salt and ethanol.
