Description :
4-Aminoquinoline is a basic compound with structural similarity to the aminoquinoline moiety found in many antiviral drugs. 4-Aminoquinoline has been shown to inhibit viral replication and binds to the mitochondrial membrane potential, which may lead to apoptosis. It also has potent antitumor activity and can be used for the treatment of leukemia, lymphoma, and ovarian cancer. 4-Aminoquinoline is metabolized by liver enzymes such as cytochrome P450 and glucuronidases. The drug also has receptor activity on human cells that may lead to side effects such as congestive heart failure.
