• Description: 2-Acetyl-3-ethylpyrazine is a synthetic, potent and selective inhibitor of the enzyme thiosemicarbazide-sensitive amine oxidase (TSAO). The compound was found to be more potent than other TSAO inhibitors. This inhibition is a result of the high affinity of 2-acetyl-3-ethylpyrazine for the active site of TSAO. This high affinity leads to significant antiproliferative activity in cell models. The compound has also been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo, as well as to induce apoptosis and cell death through various signaling pathways.
