Description

2-Aminophenol-4-(2'-carboxy)sulfonanilide is a synthetic dyestuff that is used in the manufacture of other dyes. It is also used as an intermediate for the synthesis of benzoic acid and its derivatives. The molecular structure of this compound consists of a benzene ring attached to a sulfonamide group, which is attached to a phenyl group. This diazotization reaction proceeds via the coupling of an aminophenol with an acylating agent in the presence of sodium nitrite and sulfuric acid.
