7-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline is a heterocyclic compound that is used in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical drugs. This compound has been shown to be an inhibitor of human keratin and can be used as a topical drug to treat skin disorders. 7-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline can exist in two different geometric isomers and three optical isomers: (1) the cis form (2) the trans form, and (3) the syn form. The cis form has a hydrogen atom on the right side of the molecule while the trans and syn forms have a hydrogen atom on the left side. The cis form is more stable than its two counterparts because it has a stronger bond between its nitrogen atom and oxygen atoms. The solvates of this compound are also known as hydrates or water molecules that are bonded to it.
