Description

2-Amino-4-methylenepentanedioic acid is an amino acid that is used as a cross-linking agent in the manufacture of polyamides. It is also used in plant physiology, tissue cultures, and protein synthesis. 2-Amino-4-methylenepentanedioic acid has been shown to have a high affinity for acidic substances. This compound is not active against bacteria, but has been shown to be irreversible inhibitor of enzymes such as amide synthetase or enzymes involved in protein synthesis.
