• Description: Acetyl-D-tyrosine is a synthetic amino acid with antimicrobial properties. It belongs to the group of hydrophobic, acidic, and phosphate ions. Acetyl-D-tyrosine has shown regression in gene product activity after linear regression analysis in bacteria. Acetyl-D-tyrosine has been shown to inhibit the growth of Gram negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This compound also inhibits the production of bacterial proteins by racemase enzyme.
