D-Aspartic acid beta-methyl ester hydrochloride is a bacterial metabolite that belongs to the group of condensation products. It is a carboxylic acid monoester with d-aspartic acid and methanol. D-Aspartic acid beta-methyl ester hydrochloride can be synthesized from d-aspartic acid and methyl alcohol. This compound has shown to have antibacterial properties against bacterial strains such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. D-Aspartic acid beta-methyl ester hydrochloride has also been found to have anticancer effects on mammalian cells in vitro.
