- 9-Acridinecarboxylic Acid
9-Acridinecarboxylic acid is an ethylene diamine that has been used as a flow system for the detection of 9-acridine in wastewater. It has a chemical stability and binding constants that are similar to those of ethylene diamine. 9-Acridinecarboxylic acid is detectable by immunoassays and photomultiplier tube (PMT) methods, with analytical limits of 0.1 to 1 μg/L. This compound has been shown to be effective against carcinoma cell lines, such as MCF-7 cells, and can be used for the treatment of cancer. The carbonyl group on this molecule is responsible for its antitumor activity.
