Description

(1R,2R)-2-Aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid is a β-amino acid that has been synthesized through an asymmetric synthesis. It has a conformation that is stereoselective, with the amino group on the left side and the carboxyl group on the right side. The molecular modeling of this compound has shown that it binds to protein targets with high affinity. It has been shown to have hemolytic activity in nitrocellulose strips in the presence of hydrogen bond and amide groups. (1R,2R)-2-Aminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid also interacts with fluorine and protonated nitrogen nuclei in peptide binding, which may indicate peptide binding properties. This molecule contains sequences that are structural analysis related to β-lactam antibiotics such as penicillin.
