It binds to the topoisomerase II, inhibiting DNA synthesis and leading to cell death. 3-Aminopyrrolidine induces apoptosis by binding to the surface of cells, where it initiates a cascade of events that leads to cell death. This drug has been shown to be cytotoxic against a variety of cancer cells including carcinoma cell lines and murine leukemia cells. It also inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor signaling, which may be responsible for its ability to inhibit tumor growth in vivo.
