Description

2-Aminoterephthalic acid is a sulfa drug that has a skeleton containing two nitrogen atoms. It is a white, crystalline powder and can be dissolved in water. 2-Aminoterephthalic acid is used as an intermediate for the preparation of other sulfa drugs. The detection limit of this compound was determined to be 0.5 mg/L with the use of a chemiluminescence method and fluorescence probe. This compound reacts with acid to form an acid complex that can be detected by plasma mass spectrometry or electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
