Allyl tiglate is a natural product that has the formula CH2=CH-C(=O)-CH=CH-CO2H. It belongs to the class of organic compounds called carboxylic acids. Its chemical structure consists of a chain of carbon atoms with one double bond (C=C) and two single bonds (C-H). Allyl tiglate is soluble in water, ethanol, ether, and chloroform. The molecular weight for allyl tiglate is 124.14 daltons. Allyl tiglate has been shown to temporarily inhibit radiation transfer between molecules in multidimensional systems. This process can be reversed by adding more allyl tiglate to the system or by irradiating the system with light at a wavelength that does not activate allyl tiglate.
