Ammonium 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7-pentadecafluoroheptane-1-sulphonate is a surfactant that can be used to quantify the amount of evaporation in wastewater. It has been found to be effective at removing fluorine atoms from wastewater and preventing the formation of chlorinated compunds. Ammonium 1,1,2,2,-3,-3,-4,-4,-5,-5,-6,-6,-7,-7-pentadecafluoroheptane-1-sulphonate also adsorbs organic compounds and coagulates organic matter by forming an ionic bond with anionic sites on other particles. This product is most often used as a chloride or ammonium salt in inorganic water treatment processes.
