Description :5-Hexenyl Acetate is a reactive, monolayer, damaged and ring-opening molecule that has been immobilized on a ruthenium complex. It has been used as an odorant binding agent and in metathesis reactions to produce functionalized organic acids. 5-Hexenyl Acetate also has functional groups such as carboxylate and organic acid groups.
5-Hexenyl Acetate reacts with imidazoline (a chemical compound) in the presence of a solid catalyst to produce a polymer called polyhexeneimine. This polymer is useful for immobilizing enzymes on surfaces, as well as for producing other polymers by ring-opening polymerization.
