8-Amino-1H-purine-2,6(3H,7H)-dione is a polymorphic compound that contains nitrogen atoms. It is the ligand for adenosine receptors and has been shown to stimulate adenosine receptor subtypes. 8-Amino-1H-purine-2,6(3H,7H)-dione also has been shown to have a neutral ph and can be activated by chloride ions. This compound was used in molecular modelling studies to study the binding of hypochlorous acid to human serum albumin.
