Description :Triamcinolone hexacetonide is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used to treat arthritis. It is a prodrug that is hydrolyzed in vivo to triamcinolone acetonide, its active form. Triamcinolone hexacetonide has been shown to be effective against arthritis and other inflammatory diseases of the joints. It inhibits the production of prostaglandins by blocking the release of arachidonic acid from membrane phospholipids. This reduces pain and inflammation with minimal side effects. The drug also has immunosuppressive properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit toll-like receptor signaling pathways and response elements involved in the immune response. Triamcinolone hexacetonide can be administered orally or intra-articularly for treatment of inflammation.
