Description

Trimethylsilylpropanoic acid is a chemical compound with the formula CH3-C(O)CH2-Si(CH3)3. It is used as an optical sensor to detect the transport properties of electrolytes. Trimethylsilylpropanoic acid has been shown to be well suited for use in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy studies due to its stability and low toxicity. Trimethylsilylpropanoic acid has also been shown to have anti-angiogenic effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit transcription and replication of DNA.
