Description

3-Bromo-4-methylpyridine is a molecule that consists of a five-membered ring containing three bromine atoms and one carbon atom. It has the chemical formula C5H6BrN. The molecule contains two methyl groups attached to the pyridine ring (hence its name). 3-Bromo-4-methylpyridine has been shown to be an effective synthon for palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions, which are used in organic synthesis for the production of pharmaceuticals.
