• Description: 2-Bromothioanisole is an enolate that is derived from the reaction of thioanisoles with a variety of solvents. This compound has been shown to have inhibitory activities against sulfoxide formation by immobilized enzymes and molecular modeling studies. 2-Bromothioanisole can be used as a substrate molecule for preparation of sulfoxide compounds using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The sulfoxides formed from this compound are found to inhibit the enzyme activity in the trichloroacetic acid, trifluoroacetic acid, and sulfonic acid.
