Description :
2,2'-Bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxaldehyde is a synthetic compound that can be used in the production of cyclic compounds. It is produced by the reaction of bipyridines with an aldehyde in the presence of an organic solvent. The high yield and low cost make this process very attractive for industrial use. The reaction product is neutralized with hydrochloric acid to give 2,2'-Bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxylic acid.
