(1R,4S,5S,8R)-8-[(Z)-2-[2,4-Bis(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Ethenyl]-4,8-Dimethyl-6,7-Dioxabicyclo[3.3.1]Nonan-3-One is a sesquiterpene lactone that has been shown to have anti-cancer effects against human liver cancer cells. This compound is an analog of the natural product artemisinin and is structurally similar to the herb Artemisia annua L. It has been shown to inhibit cell growth in vitro and in vivo by binding to the p450 enzymes in the liver and blocking their activity.
