• Description: 3-Benzyloxy-1-propanol is a desymmetrization agent that catalyzes the conversion of esters to ketones and amides to alcohols. It is also an asymmetric synthesis reagent that converts (S)-2,3-diaminopropionic acid into (R)-2,3-diaminopropionic acid. 3-Benzyloxy-1-propanol has been shown to be a useful tool in the synthesis of amines with functional groups such as carbonyl or hydroxyl.
