Description :
5-Bromo-2-methoxybenzamide is a strain that inhibits the polymerization of polycarboxylic acids. It has been shown to have inhibitory effects on thermally and photochemically initiated polymerization of dodecanedioic acid, as well as electrophotographic processes. 5-Bromo-2-methoxybenzamide also binds to metal ions, such as copper, iron, and manganese, in an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent. The monocarboxylic acid form of this molecule is a mononuclear aromatic compound with a c1-6 alkyl substituent.
