3-(Bromomethyl)phenylboronic acid is a synthetic chemical that has been used as a primary building block in organic synthesis. It binds to proteins and inhibits the activity of cytosolic protein kinase C (PKC), which is important for the activation of genes. 3-(Bromomethyl)phenylboronic acid also enhances UV-induced DNA crosslinking, which may be due to its ability to bind to polyvinyl compounds. 3-(Bromomethyl)phenylboronic acid can be synthesized from phenol derivatives and boron trihalides, such as boron trichloride or boron tribromide. 3-(Bromomethyl)phenylboronic acid dissociates from PKC-bound sequences with an affinity constant of 10 M, and has shown activity against tissues such as keratinocytes and erythrocytes. 3-(Bromomethyl)phen
