Informations sur le produit
2-Bromo-4-chlorothiazole is a reactive, disulfide ether that is prepared by the reaction of bromine and chloroacetaldehyde. The compound was used as a reagent in the synthesis of thiazoles. It reacts with diethyl ether, yielding a mixture of products which can be analyzed by gas chromatography. The compound was also used to produce 2-bromo-2'-methylthioethane from ethyl bromide and dimethyl sulfide. The selectivity of the reaction is high, with dimethyl sulfide being selectively deprotonated to yield methanesulfonic acid.
