3-Bromo-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine is a heterocyclic compound that has been shown to be an inhibitor of copper enzymes. This drug inhibits the lipolytic enzyme phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase (PI3K) in mammalian cells and is also a potent inhibitor of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2). 3-Bromo-1H pyrrolo[3,2-b]pyridine is a catalyzed heterocycle with high lipophilicity that can be used as a focusing agent for fluorescence microscopy.
