Description :
8-Bromo-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It inhibits the activity of GTPase, a protein involved in signal transduction, which leads to cell death and cancer cell death. 8-Bromo-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one is orally active and can be administered as an anticancer drug. The anti cancer effects are due to its ability to bind with high affinity to nucleotide receptors on the surface of cancer cells. 8-Bromo-2H-1-benzopyran-2-one also has fluorescent properties, which make it a useful tool for research into kinetics and interactions.
