Description

Fostemsavir is a drug that inhibits the life cycle of HIV-1 by binding to its reverse transcriptase (RT). It has been shown to be effective against resistant mutants and is not affected by other drugs. Fostemsavir can be used in combination with other antiretroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV-1 infection. It is an oral prodrug that undergoes first-pass metabolism and is converted to fostemsavir in the liver. This drug does not bind to human cells because it does not have any affinity for proteins found in human cells, such as albumin or histones.
