1,3-Bis(4,5-dihydro-2-oxazolyl)benzene is a reactive phenoxy compound that has been shown to react with phosphorous acid and polycarboxylic acids to form amides. This reaction mechanism was studied using 13C NMR spectroscopy on a model system. The rate of this reaction was found to be constant and the frequency of the hydrogen bonds in the reactant molecules is crucial for the formation of the final product.
